Windy & Warm...a journey home" explores guitarist Rick Cyge's early folk and acoustic roots in the hub of the vibrant Boston Folk scene. Along with six new original compositions, the album includes the popular "Ashokan Farewell", (best known as the theme music for Ken Burns' PBS Special on the Civil War) in addition to selections composed by Leo Kottke, Edgar Meyer and Cheryl Wheeler and tunes popularized by Doc Watson and Nanci Griffith. An intimate recording that that focuses on the interplay between the two main voices (guitar & flute), yet it's rounded out with contributions from the mandolin, Irish cittern, pennywhistles (Lynn Trombetta on flutes and pennywhistles) and some percussion as well.
